How it works

From a technical challenge comes a startup.

On one side, those who bring the challenge; on the other, those who can solve it. Firmamento introduces them, and together they found the startup.

Who brings the challenge

  • Companies, independent professionals, institutions and public bodies.
  • Anyone with a technical problem that no one has solved yet.
  • They bring the problem and, when they can, part of the capital.

Bring a challenge

Who solves it

  • Talented young people who can design, code or do research.
  • Even while studying or working, from any country.
  • They bring the craft and their time, and found the startup.

A closed-door platform

Those who bring a challenge and those who apply join Firmamento's platform through one of the two forms on this website. Anyone can join.

The doors are closed to protect the challenges of those who bring them and the data of those who apply: only the cooperative's team sees challenges and profiles, and we don't publish them.

People do the matching, not an algorithm. We read every challenge and every application, and for each challenge we look for the right people.

If you bring a challenge

  1. Tell us about the problem using the form, with no confidential information.
  2. A person replies, and we talk it over.
  3. We sign a confidentiality agreement, then you tell us the details.

If you apply

  1. Tell us who you are and what you can do.
  2. A person replies, and we get to know each other.
  3. The cooperative's board approves your membership.

Then, together

  1. Before anything starts, the rules are written down: intellectual property and what happens if a shareholder leaves.
  2. We match the challenge with the young people who can solve it. They sign the confidentiality agreement too.
  3. Everyone analyses the challenge together, to see whether a startup can come out of it.
  4. The startup is founded by the young people on the team. The cooperative and whoever brought the challenge hold a share.

The founders bring the craft and their time. If the startup goes under, they owe nothing to anyone.

He brought the problem

At the clinic, the paperwork always fell behind: consent forms, records, photos. With Luca Di Domenico we founded Fibonacci. I bring the clinical side, and I went through all 115 consent templates, one by one. The young team at Firmamento writes the software. Today Fibonacci prepares the consent form, I check it and the patient signs it.
